Terms of use
Terms for using Patientvoice (ourpatientvoice.org). Version 1.0.
Version effective from 2026-05-12.
What this platform is
Patientvoice is an open, non-commercial website where visitors can anonymously share experiences with mental healthcare. It is not a complaints channel, disciplinary tribunal, or inspectorate procedure. The content consists of personal experiences, not factual findings.
For visitors sharing an experience
By submitting an experience you declare: that you are writing about something you experienced yourself, that you have read the code of conduct, and that your text complies with it. You retain copyright on your text. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display the text publicly on this site and in translated form. You may request removal of your own text (see privacy policy).
For providers named on the site
If you are named on this site, see the privacy policy for your rights (access, rectification, removal, reply). The takedown button on every profile and every experience is the fastest route. We aim to respond within 48 hours to justified requests.
Liability
Patientvoice is an open platform; we screen every experience via an automated check, and manually where needed, but we make no guarantees as to the factual accuracy of individual experiences. Providers affected by content should use the takedown button; we handle justified requests within 48 hours. Our liability for any damages arising from publication is, to the extent permitted by law, limited to EUR 500 per justified case.
No medical advice
Nothing on this site is medical advice. In a mental-health crisis call your local emergency line. In the Netherlands: 113 (free, 24/7) or 112 for immediate danger. For formal complaints: PVP (pvp.nl), the complaints committee of your provider, or IGJ (igj.nl).
Open source
The source code of this platform is on github.com/JoostBoer/patientenstem under the MIT licence. Content (experiences, profiles) is not covered by MIT but by these terms.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the district of the data controller.
