Code of conduct
What is allowed and what is not on Patientvoice. These rules apply to anyone sharing an experience or posting a reply.
What we ask of you
- Write about what you experienced yourself, not about what you think of someone as a person. Concrete observations ("she said X to me", "I waited three weeks for an appointment") belong here. Personal judgments about someone's character ("he is incompetent", "she is dangerous") do not.
- Stick to what is true for you. Describe situations that happened. Don't invent facts or present rumours as truth.
- Don't accuse anyone of a criminal offence without evidence. A suspicion is not a fact. For criminal matters there are other channels: police, prosecution, disciplinary tribunal, healthcare inspectorate.
- Don't make medical diagnoses about a healthcare provider. You may describe how someone's behaviour felt to you.
- Write without slurs or threats. Being angry is fine, name-calling is not.
- Don't share private information about a provider that falls outside their professional role: home address, family situation, religion, etcetera.
What we do
- Every experience that names a healthcare provider goes through an automated check against this code before it becomes visible. Borderline submissions go to manual review.
- Any healthcare provider named on this site can claim their profile at /zorgverlener/<slug>/claim after identity verification (BIG number and email).
- A claimed provider can publicly reply to any experience on their profile. The reply appears under the experience with name and BIG-verification status.
- A provider can always submit a reasoned removal or correction request via the takedown button on every profile and every experience. Justified requests are taken offline within 48 hours and you receive a motivated reply.
- We log every takedown decision with motivation. Auditability matters to us as much as freedom of expression.
When we remove something
- When a factual claim is disputed by the provider and cannot be substantiated by the author.
- When an experience contains slurs, threats or accusations of a criminal offence without evidence.
- When private information outside the professional role is shared (doxing).
- When the provider has a justified complaint that the text does not meet this code.
Appeal
- If you disagree with our decision, contact us within 30 days using the address in the terms. If the issue cannot be resolved, you may approach the competent court.
